L590 Marine Adhesive - Premium Boat Carpet Glue
In Stock & Ready to Ship –
Sold by the gallon – 1 gallon covers an 8' x 10' area.
Application Instructions:
- Acclimate materials: Ensure the L590 Marine Adhesive, flooring fabric, and substrate are acclimatized for at least 24 hours before installation. Failure to do so voids warranties.
- Prepare the substrate: Follow the subfloor preparation guidelines and loose-fit the flooring for an accurate fit. Consider leaving extra fabric at the edges for flexibility during installation.
- Apply adhesive: Starting at one end of the boat, roll the fabric back toward the center, working in sections. L590 can be brushed, rolled, or troweled (using a 5/32” U-notch trowel).
- Avoid skin formation: If the adhesive forms a skin, scrape it off and dispose of it, then reapply with fresh adhesive.
- Place fabric: L590 is not a contact adhesive, so there’s no need for tack-time. Simply apply the fabric to the wet adhesive, smooth out wrinkles, and make immediate adjustments.
- Spread rate: Apply at approximately 1 gallon per 120 sq. ft. Thicker applications may take longer to cure.
- Final steps: Once the fabric is laid down, smooth it out using a straight edge or a similar tool. Avoid foot traffic and weather exposure (including cold temperatures) for 24-48 hours to ensure full curing.

Why Choose L590 Marine Adhesive?
When purchasing boat carpet glue, it’s essential to invest in a quality product. Many cheaper adhesives can damage the carpet backing over time. L590 is a trusted, water-based marine adhesive recommended by boat manufacturers for its fast-setting, strong bond and durability. It’s suitable for various boats (Pontoon, Deck, Bass, Ski, Jon Boats) as well as patios and decks.
